Gbana Security have come into the theatrical environment and made a complete difference. For many years we had used supposed “Industry Professionals” , who were meant to specialise in theatre/event security, but instead delivered a very poor performance to us. By chance a local promoter wanted to use Gbana to cover their event as opposed to our own. I agreed but had reservations! I had no need to worry, the security team was excellent and enhanced the evening for our customers. Ever since that night we have used Gbana and have not looked back. During the Olympic Games held in London 2012 I was the Venue Security Manager for St. James’ Park, the home of Newcastle United. The venue staged nine football matches over a 3 week period, several of which drew crowds of over 40,000. Security was at a premium due to the nature of the event and therefore required more stringent measures than would normally take place at the venue. For reasons which were well documented at the time there were massive problems with a shortage of staff required to enable the security and safety of all persons attending the venue during the games. GBANA security provided staff, literally overnight, to help ensure that the games could go ahead in a safe environment. I was greatly impressed by their attitude and professionalism in carrying out their duties at such short notice and they proved an invaluable asset over the period of the games. The event was a huge success after being in a seemingly perilous position and I am proud to say that because of the efforts of such people as those from GBANA, St. James’ Park was the only Olympic Venue that carried out its crowd safety and security duties without the assistance of Police or The Military. I will always be grateful for their help.
